Paul Trapani

An interview with Paul...

I think there's a lot of room for improvement and I think I can make a difference," said Trapani, who is a lifelong Republican.

He said he chose to file for county executive because he believes that position will give him the greatest opportunity to make a positive impact. "The idea of being able to break new ground with charter government is very enticing," he said.

He supports creation of a strategic plan for Cecil County as laid out in the charter. "How do you know when you've arrived, if you don't know where you're going?" he asked.

If elected, Trapani doesn't have one single issue he feels demands immediate change, but he thinks several areas should, at least, be looked at for efficiencies. "I think tax relief is needed," Trapani said. "When budgeting, the county should spend money in areas that will give the best return." He said his first priority would be to improve the economy in Cecil County.
